To improve patient information, Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) has set up a reader panel - which will influence the template and contents of its patient leaflets – on Wednesday 20 January at Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health at 5-7pm.
HRCH are seeking ten service users to take part in the reader panel session. They will assess the patient information leaflets by completing a brief survey and having a discussion.
HRCH are keen to receive input from local Hounslow residents who use our services. The trust believes that is vital to ensure that patients are well informed and that information is easy to understand and accessible.
The event will be held on Wednesday 20 January 2016, Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health, Room 0W31, ground floor, 92 Bath Rd, Hounslow TW3 3EL, at 5-7pm.
If you would like to attend please contact Sabrina.Nelson@HRCH.NHS.UK or call 020 8973 3016. Refreshments will be served on the day and we can provide travel reimbursements.
NHS accessible information standard
Our Health and social care system is at its core about our service users and patients, and the care we provide for them. A key part of this is to ensure that those people using health and social care services have their needs met.
The Accessible Information Standard tells organisations how they should ensure that disabled patients receive information in formats that they can understand and they receive appropriate support to help them to communicate.
