Local people from Richmond and Hounslow nominated their health heroes to be recognised at the community NHS trust’s annual Staff Excellence Awards 2014.
Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust’s annual awards give recognition and reward staff for their continued commitment, innovation and hard work over the past 12 months.
Over 200 staff from the community trust attended the awards evening at the Harlequins Rugby Ground on Thursday 6 November. This year there was an overwhelming response from patients and members of the public who wanted to ensure our hardworking staff were recognised for the vital services they provide.
The event also marked the long service of many of our staff within the NHS which between them stacked up to 625 years of service.
Every year, the judges search for Hounslow and Richmond’s finest NHS workers from across every area of healthcare who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make a difference.
Stephen Swords, chair of HRCH, said: “This is an excellent opportunity to champion and showcase the skills, dedication and commitment of our staff.
“Every week I hear from patients and members of the public about the high standard of care they have had from our staff and wanting to give recognition to those who go that extra mile and make their experience of care in the NHS such a good one. I am very proud of our staff.”
The awards ceremony was formally opened by chairman Stephen Swords, before chief executive Frank Sims presented the awards to the winners and runners up.
Rebecca Mackenzie, physiotherapist from the falls team who won overall top performing team shared her delight: “I am delighted that the falls prevention team have won the award for top performing team. We have worked hard since our launch two years ago and it is important that the team members feel they have been recognised for their efforts.”
