HRCH held its first ever community health fair at Teddington Memorial Hospital on Saturday 9 September and crowds of local people came along to find out more about community health services and enjoy the range of fun activities and fresh food on offer.
Staff from twenty HRCH services ran stalls and activities in marquees across the Teddington Memorial Hospital and Teddington Health & Social Care Centre car parks – and were joined by many other local health providers, including London Ambulance, MIND, Diabetes UK, MS Society, Richmond Healthwatch, Richmond CCG – and many more.
Visitors at the event were able to get free health checks for a range of conditions, meet local NHS staff and find out about the range of vital community health services that HRCH provides across the local area.
Food providers from London Farmers’ Market also ran stalls at the event to cater for those who fancied a tasty bite to eat. While kids were at the event had the time of their lives on a bouncy castle, with the more adventurous enjoying a sledge hammer strength gizmo, face painting, a teddy bear clinic and more besides.
Patricia Wright, chief executive said of Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust said:
“ The event was a great success and I was delighted to see the outstanding quality of every single stall at the event.
“I saw and spoke to many very engaged local people and patients who had a much better understanding of our services and had benefited from attending."
