Biomechanics and orthotics

The Podiatry service offers biomechanical assessment and gait analysis.

Patients with musculoskeletal problems in their feet or lower limbs can be assessed and if appropriate, functional orthotics prescribed.

The trust has a Podiatry Biomechanics Orthotic laboratory based at Richmond Rehabilitation Unit, which enables the manufacture and fitting of functional orthotics on site. Patients can be prescribed and fitted with orthotics all in one visit.

The service is provided by the podiatry team, led by a specialist Biomechanical Podiatrist.
